Dr. Patrick (Pat) Richey earned his Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi. He earned his M.A. from Stephen F. Austin State University, and his B.A. from Louisiana College. Pat is well versed in debate. He began his debate career in middle school and debated for Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Mo. He debated for Longview Community College before transferring and debating for Bennett Strange at Louisiana College. While in Iraq as a Civil Affairs Sgt. In 2002-2004, Pat participated in the email debate tournament. Upon his return he debated and was the Assistant Coach at Stephen F. Austin State University with Coach Stephen Jeffcoat. Pat is currently the Director of Forensics and Associate Professor at Middle Tennessee State University. He is also the Recording Secretary of IPDA. Pat has competed, coached, or judged IPDA, NPDA, Worlds Championship Debate, CX, LD, Public Forum, Student Congress, and multiple IEs for the past 25 years.
Dr. Shaquille (Shaq) Marsh earned his Ph.D. and M.A. from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. He earned a B.S. from Troy University in Troy, Alabama and an A.S. from Enterprise State Community College in Enterprise, Alabama. Shaq is currently serving as the Department Chair for the Communivation Studies and Modern Languages Department, an Associate Professor of Communication Studies, and the Director of the Speech and Debate program at Pellissiippi State Community College in Knoxille, Tennessee.
Donna Taylor earned her M.A. from East Tennessee State University and her B.A. from Cedarville University. Donna has been teaching and coaching speech in one form or another for the past 20 years. She is currently serving as a Lecturer for the Department of Communication Studies and Storytelling and Director of the ETSU Speech and Debate Team in Johnson City, TN.
